Jeff is the Chairman and Founder of Silent Wave Project and a native Oregonian with a lifelong connection to the coast, the outdoors, and service to others. His path has not been easy. He has faced addiction, homelessness, and alcoholism, and knows firsthand what it means to search for peace, stability, and purpose in the midst of struggle. Through those experiences, Jeff learned that healing often begins when a person finds somewhere they feel safe, seen, and understood.
For Jeff, surfing became that place. The ocean gave him something he had been looking for for years: a sense of calm, belonging, and direction. Even in the raw, unpredictable waters of Oregon, he found that being in the ocean offered a kind of freedom that helped him move forward. Over time, that personal experience grew into a larger calling — to create that same opportunity for Deaf youth and young adults who may feel isolated, overlooked, or disconnected from community.
Jeff’s work has always centered on service, whether that meant helping people on the street, taking part in coastal cleanups, or using his skills in creative and outdoor spaces to uplift others. Today, he brings that same lived experience, resilience, and compassion to Silent Wave Project with a mission to help others find confidence, purpose, and healing through the ocean.
